Manager Ange Postecoglou came under fire following a 1-0 home defeat to fierce rivals Arsenal last Sunday. That disappointing result means Tottenham have managed to secure just one victory from their first four league matches this season.

Adding to their woes, Spurs narrowly avoided an embarrassing exit in the EFL Cup midweek. They had to stage a dramatic late comeback to edge past Championship side Coventry and advance to the fourth round.

Brentford, on the other hand, have experienced a mixed bag of results so far. With two wins and two losses in their opening four games, their most recent Premier League outing saw them fall 2-1 away to Manchester City.

However, Thomas Frank’s squad showed resilience in their last match, coming from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over Leyton Orient in the Carabao Cup's third round.
