Trump celebrates Ali Khamenei's death

The apparent attacks on Dubai come within hours of the US President appearing to confirm the death of the Iranian supreme leader.

Earlier reports suggested Ali Khamenei's body was found "in rubble" after US strikes on the capital. Israeli PM Benjamin Netenyahu later said intelligence tipped there were "growing signs" that the leader was "gone".

Writing on Truth Social, Trump later announced "justice" had been served.

"Khamenei, one of the most evil people in history, is dead. This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many countries throughout the world, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty thugs," he wrote.

In a statement on X, Dubai Media Office said an incident at the Burj Al Arab has unfolded after a 'drone was intercepted'.

The luxurious hotel appears to come as the third building possibly targeted by Iran, following The Fairmont Palm and Dubai International Aiport.

The office said in a statement: "Authorities confirm that a drone was intercepted, and debris caused a minor fire on the Burj Al Arab's outer facade. Civil Defence teams responded immediately and brought the incident under control. No injuries have been reported."
