Gary O'Neil's side seemed poised to secure a crucial derby victory last weekend when Matheus Cunha scored the opener against Aston Villa. However, Wolves conceded three goals in the final 17 minutes, extending a troubling slump that began towards the end of last season despite an initially promising start under O'Neil.

The pressure is mounting on O'Neil to accumulate points and stave off speculation about his job security. Unfortunately for him, Liverpool present a formidable obstacle.

Under new manager Arne Slot, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have had an impressive start to the season. Apart from a slip-up at home against Nottingham Forest, Slot has guided the Reds to victory in their other four Premier League matches. This strong performance has left them just one point behind reigning champions Manchester City. If Liverpool can continue securing wins at challenging venues like Molineux, they could very well be serious contenders for the title this season.
