I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2021 star Tulisa Contostavlos has opened up on her love life, admitting she has been celibate for 'over three years'

Tulisa Contostavlos has revealed she has been celibate for "over three years" and is guarded when it comes to new relationships.

Talk in the camp turned to being single, and DJ Dean McCullough shared: “I actually do enjoy being single, I enjoy being on my own." Speaking about apps, Coronation Street actor Alan admitted: “I’ve never done dating apps, I don’t even know what I’d do!”

Dean then looked over to Tulisa and joked: “We’ve done them all, haven’t we babes.” But Tulisa replied: “No I’ve only done Raya. I’m not really a dater, even though I’ve been on there, I’ve never gone on an actual date with anyone on there… I’m proper guarded.

“I feel like I’m demi-sexual, I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone.” Dean said: “You need meaning babe.” And Tulisa, 36, agreed: “I need actual depth.” She then revealed: “I’m a slow, slow burner, I’ve been celibate for over three years.”

As Dean quizzed her on what it’s like being celibate, she said: “I’m not an overly sexualised person. For me, it’s all about the connection and the emotions that I feel with someone and then wanting to express them in that way.” Explaining the thought of sleeping with someone or going out and meeting someone “genuinely makes me feel physically sick” she joked: “This is my temple, you cannot enter!” As the campmates laugh, Alan joked: “It sounds like a Bushtucker Trial where you’ve gotta find a key to Tulisa’s temple!”

Before going into camp in an interview Tulisa spoke about being content with her life as it was being single. She told the Mirror : "I don't think I'll be quiet when I'm in there, because when I'm on, I'm on. In terms of, like, when there are people there, I'm not going to sit and be a misery guard. And when I'm socialising, I socialise to the fullest. So I would come across as like a total extrovert.

"It's just when I have the choice, and I'm at home, for instance, I want to spend a small amount of my time socialising, and the rest I'll spend on my own, but there is no choice in there. And when I do socialise, I socialise to the fullest, but I might need moments where I need to go off and have quiet time."

In 2012 she won a court apology from ex-boyfriend Justin Edwards over a sex tape which appeared on the internet without Tulisa's consent or knowledge. Tulisa, who shot to fame in the early 2000s as a member of hip hop group N-Dubz and landed a high-profile role as a judge on the X Factor talent show, had an on-off relationship with Edwards which ended in late 2009.
