Luis Enrique shuts down Mikel Arteta as he instantly denies bold Arsenal claim - 'I don’t agree'

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique says he disagrees with Mikel Arteta's claim that Arsenal were the "better" team in the Champions League semi-final.

The Gunners fell to a 2-1 defeat to PSG in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night.

Bukayo Saka scored what proved to be a consolation goal for Arsenal after Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi had put the home side in control of the tie.

The defeats ended Arsenal's chances of winning a major trophy this season and will now prepare to face Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield at the weekend.

After the game, Arteta stated that he believes Arsenal were the 'better' team across the semi-final against PSG, as well as the competition as a whole.

Enrique, though, has a different view of how the semi-final between Arsenal and PSG transpired.

“I don’t agree at all," Enrique told reporters on Wednesday night. "Mikel Arteta is a great friend but I don’t agree at all.

“I think they played in a clever way and they got the match to the right moment for them because they played in the way they want and love to play.

“But I think in the two legs, we score more goals than them and in football that’s the most important thing.

"I have to say, Arsenal played a great match and we suffered a lot. I think it’s a match where we suffered the most.

“I think we deserved to get to the final. They are a great team as well, but I repeat, we scored more goals and we played in a great way in the first leg and in the second half in the second leg, it was a different match, and we could score even more goals.”
