When Micky van de Ven will return to Tottenham action amid hamstring injury issue

by · football.london

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Micky van de Ven is likely to return to action following the international break.

The centre-back was visibly distressed as he suffered a hamstring injury in Spurs' Carabao Cup win against Manchester City, forced to come off after a duel with Savinho.

However, while fears were naturally large over such a pivotal player to Spurs' hopes this season, Postecoglou has confirmed that the injury is not too serious, and the Netherlands international should be back and available after the November international break.

"Main one, is Micky, he has sort of strained his hamstring," Postecoglou said in his press conference ahead of the Premier League clash against Aston Villa.

"It's not too serious, but probably after the international break for him. He was really looking forward to the game, so he was emotional. At least it's not a bad one like last time that kept him out for quite a while."

Spurs have three games before that break, with high-flying Aston Villa first up this weekend. Following that, it's a Europa League clash away to Galatasaray next week, and a home clash against Ipswich next weekend.

Tottenham will be hoping the 23-year-old is back fit and firing straight away for the return of Premier League football, with a huge clash away to Manchester City first up.

After that, it's two home clashes in a row against AS Roma in the Europa League and Fulham in the Premier League, and the games start coming thick and fast with matches every weekend and midweek up until Christmas.

Van de Ven has been in fine form so far this season, and his partnership with Cristian Romero one of the bedrocks of the Tottenham team. However, Radu Dragusin came in for the Dutch star against Man City, and will have a chance to prove his value to the team.
