Myles Lewis-Skelly has already started doing one thing at Arsenal that will alert Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The youngster is having a sensational campaign for Arsenal, cementing his place in the right-back under Mikel Arteta. The academy graduate already has made 21 appearances under his belt in all competitions after initially impressing in pre-season.

With his role in the first-team enhancing, it has been suggested that his impressive displays for Arsenal have caught the eye of new England manager Thomas Tuchel. The former Chelsea boss will name his first England squad for the international fixtures in March.

Mikel Arteta has spoken highly of the 18-year-old this campaign. "He’s a real personality you know, he has so much drive and he has an attitude about him, but you have to play against [Dejan] Kulusevski and [Brennan] Johnson here, it’s not easy, the way he handled the situation and the occasion as well, it was tough I think," Arteta said of his performance against Tottenham recently.

Alongside football, he is currently studying for AS Levels in both Spanish and business studies. Asked why he picked those two subjects, the left-back explained: "Well Spanish, because I really like learning languages, and I particularly like Spanish. I want to be fluent in other languages – I feel that’s important.

"Also I feel if I can be fluent in one language it will be easier to pick up others too. I try to practice around the Spanish speakers in the dressing room – they correct me a lot!"

The news that Lewis-Skelly is learning Spanish could well alert La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid to his services following a string of impressive performances for the Gunners this season. Lewis-Skelly will be eyeing another start for Arteta against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon after his red card against Wolves was overturned.

The 18-year-old received marching orders in the first half against Wolves following for a late challenge on Matt Doherty that was deemed reckless by referee Michael Oliver - but the decision was later overturned following a successful appeal.
