Arsenal get green light for return transfer as Stan Kroenke approves exciting deal

Our opinion on the latest Arsenal news and transfer gossip - as Mikel Arteta and the Gunners prepare to resume their Premier League charge after October's international break.

by · football.london

Mikel Arteta only has a few days left on the training pitches at London Colney before Arsenal return to domestic action. The Gunners have won each of their last four games, across all competitions, and they remain unbeaten in the Premier League since April.

Arteta's side will be keen to extend that run when they lock horns with AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday. As it stands, just one point separates Liverpool at the top of the table from Manchester City, and the north Londoners.

With Arne Slot's men ready to face Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, Arteta will be hoping to set pace and claim first place. So, that being said, football.london has rounded-up your latest Arsenal news and transfer gossip;

Isak makes new contract demand

According to talkSPORT, Alexander Isak has put Arsenal on 'red alert' after negotiations with Newcastle over his proposed new contract have stalled. The 25-year-old striker, who sees his current deal at St James' Park expire in June 2028, has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for a while now, dating back to his spell in Spain.

The report states that there's been no sign of progress in talks, with Isak looking to become the club's top earner. talkSPORT add that the Sweden international also wants a release clause inserted into his contract.

football.london says: "Alexander Isak would be a sensational signing for Arsenal. That being said, though, I can't see the Swede leaving Newcastle United anytime soon unless club offers an eye-watering fee. Plus, his potential release clause would be astronomical..."

Kroenke approves stunning £1bn move

Stan Kroenke has been involved in approving a £1billion deal that will see a major US sports team complete its stadium renovation. As the head of the Los Angeles Rams, the Arsenal owner was one the 32 NFL owners to unanimously approve a $1.4billion (£1.07bn) renovation of EverBank Stadium - a home to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Kroenke, who ranks 115th on the 2024 Forbes Rich List, had overseen the construction of SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, which cost just under $6bn (£4.6bn) and took almost four years to build before opening in 2020. It will host the 2027 Super Bowl - having done so previously in 2022.

This week, the 77-year-old joined his fellow owners in approving the EverBank Stadium renovation plans, which should begin early next year. The Jaguars will play one of their home games at Wembley this season, against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

football.london says: "Although the Emirates Stadium is fairly new in itself, perhaps Stan Kroenke has a further plan to invest in Arsenal next? Exciting times."

Striker reveals Arsenal transfer stance

Mika Biereth has admitted a move back to Arsenal would be 'fantastic'. Speaking to TV2, the former Gunners star said: "Things are going well in Sturm Graz and I have nothing to complain about, right now. I play every week at a good level, and now we also play in the Champions League, where I'm still waiting for my first goal.

"If I keep playing well and scoring goals, hopefully a change can come, but right now I'm focused on Sturm and on doing well and scoring goals. A return to Arsenal would be fantastic, but not something I'm focusing on right now."

football.london says: "If Mika Biereth were to re-sign for Arsenal, he'd be brought in as an understudy for either Gabriel Jesus or Kai Havertz. And that's assuming the Gunners don't go out and sign a world-class talisman in the upcoming transfer window or two."
