Arsenal next five Premier League fixtures compared to Liverpool and Chelsea in title race

by · football.london

Arsenal got back to winning ways in Premier League action after beating Crystal Palace for the second time in four days. Following draws against Fulham and Everton, the Gunners were in need of three points and they got exactly that with the gap to Liverpool closing before they face Tottenham on Sunday

Gabriel Jesus, fresh off scoring a hat-trick against the same opponents, opened the scoring with a smart finish from inside the box. The Gunners' lead did not last long however with Ismaila Sarr equalising only for Jesus to score again moments later.

Though Arsenal were back in front, Mikel Arteta was handed a huge blow with Bukayo Saka forced off because of a hamstring injury. In his absence, Arsenal continued pushing forward with Kai Havertz adding a third after reacting quickest to Jesus' header hitting the post.

Gabriel Martinelli then directed a Declan Rice shot into the back of the net for Arsenal's fourth with the latter grabbing a fifth late on. Courtesy of their victory, the Gunners have thrown the challenge down to Chelsea and Liverpool with those two facing Everton and Tottenham on Sunday, respectively.

With that said, football.london has taken a look at the upcoming fixtures for Arsenal and their title rivals.

Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures

December 27 vs Ipswich Town (H) at 8.15pm - Premier League

January 1 vs Brentford (A) at 5.30pm - Premier League

January 4 vs Brighton (A) at 5.30pm - Premier League

January 15 vs Tottenham (H) at 8pm - Premier League

January 18 vs Aston Villa (H) at 5.30pm - Premier League

Verdict

Arsenal have a run of very challenging Premier League fixtures following their clash against Ipswich after Christmas. At Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta's side will be clear favourites to beat the newly-promoted team especially following their recent 4-0 home defeat to Newcastle.

Following that, the Gunners travel across London to face Brentford on New Years Day, fresh of the Bees losing their unbeaten streak at home. Three days later, another trip south follows with Arsenal scheduled to face Brighton at Amex Stadium.

Two home games follow that but they will certainly be challenging ones with a North London Derby against Tottenham and clash against Aston Villa, who beat the Gunners at Emirates Stadium last season, arriving in the space of three days.

Liverpool's next five Premier League fixtures

December 22 vs Tottenham (A) at 4.30pm - Premier League

December 26 vs Leicester City (H) at 8pm - Premier League

January 5 vs Manchester United (H) at 4.30pm - Premier League

January 14 vs Nott’m Forest (A) at 8pm - Premier League

Chelsea's next five Premier League fixtures

December 22 vs Everton (A) at 2pm - Premier League

December 26 vs Fulham (H) at 3pm - Premier League
