Ranking Tottenham's best away shirts of the Nike era as new look planned for 2025/26 season

Here we rank Tottenham's Nike away shirts since the 2017/18 season as Ange Postecoglou's side look set to be playing in a rather different alternative shirt next campaign

Nike's designers are perhaps limited when it comes to creating the perfect Tottenham home kit. After all, there is only so much you can do with a plain white shirt and also because of the fact that a new home jersey is released every 12 months.

Designers certainly have a lot more freedom when it comes to away and third kits. Over the past few years away kits seem to becoming somewhat bolder in comparison to years gone by and Tottenham have certainly had some striking efforts.

The team's away kit from the 2021/22 season is perhaps the perfect example as fans either loved it or absolutely detested it. When it comes to a Tottenham away shirt, a shade of blue appears to be the colour of choice.

Nike do look to be turning in a different direction, though, if leaked images of Tottenham's 2025/26 away kit are anything to go by. The north London club look set to have a black away top for the first time in their partnership with the American sportswear giant and this one features a square tile pattern across the jersey and grey accents.

As is usually the case with any football shirt, it will split the opinion of supporters once it is officially unveiled. But what exactly is Tottenham's best away kit since Nike replaced Under Armour ahead of the 2017/18 campaign? football.london have had a go at ranking all eight shirts below.

8) 2022/23

The less said about this kit the better! A really poor choice of colours and it was likened to a scuba diving suit. Horrific.(Image: (Photo by Visionhaus/Getty Images))

7) 2024/25

Nike went for a lighter shade of blue for Tottenham's away kit this season. The navy, white and yellow cuffs are a nice touch but the different range of stripes coupled with a centralised Tottenham crest doesn't make it so easy on the eye.

6) 2018/19

Another navy blue shirt for Tottenham but one we saw very little of as the eye-catching 2018/19 third kit tended to be the go-to option if they couldn't play in their home kit. Not a bad effort but we've seen much better.

5) 2020/21

Something a bit different in terms of an away kit as Nike went for a dark green number. Light green club crest, Nike swoosh and sponsor worked well with the shirt and the same goes for the flashes of neon pink and yellow.

4) 2019/20

Perhaps a Tottenham away shirt that went under the radar given how impressive their third kit was that season. The 2019/20 away kit was predominantly navy blue but Nike paired it with white logos and a subtle purple gradient pattern across the top of the chest.(Image: Shaun Botterill/Getty Images)

3) 2017/18

Tottenham's first Nike shirt was rather impressive but very much a mirror image of their home kit design that season. Navy blue shirts tend to work really well for Spurs and this one was a popular effort.(Image: ROLAND HARRISON/AFP via Getty Images)

2) 2023/24

Last season's Tottenham away kit was certainly very smart as navy blue once again made a return. This time it was paired with light purple and iridescent logos to really make it pop. A really sleek design from Nike.

1) 2021/22

Very few teams can say they have had an away shirt like Tottenham did during the 2021/22 campaign. It was an incredibly bold design that fans either loved or hated.
