Twelve Arsenal players on notice as Andrea Berta clears decks for Mikel Arteta spending spree

by · football.london

Arsenal are set to be busy in the summer transfer window.

New sporting director Andrea Berta will be tasked with bringing in a number of new signings to give Mikel Arteta the strength in depth to challenge once more at the top of the Premier League table.

This will be the third season in a row - barring a late collapse - that Arsenal will have finished as runners-up in the title race and new signings will be required to give the Gunners what they need to make that next step to claiming the big trophies.

But before any signings can be made, you would imagine a number of players will have to leave the club. The squad will need freshening up, and there are a number of players who already look likely to leave.

Here, football.london takes a look at those players who are currently on notice of their positions in the Arsenal squad.

Neto

The loan signing from Bournemouth is only on loan for the season and has only played once for the Gunners. He will return to the Cherries.

Karl Hein

Has spent the season on loan at Real Valladolid. Will return to Arsenal, but does not look to be part of the first team plans.

Nuno Tavares

On loan at Lazio, with the Serie A side having an obligation to buy the left-back at the end of that loan spell.

Kieran Tierney

Out of contract this summer and has barely featured this season, so will leave upon the expiration of his deal.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Has played a bit-part role, having returned from injury and could be on the way out of the club this summer.

Jakub Kiwior

Has played a big role in Gabriel Magalhaes' injury absence, but there is interest in him from abroad and looks likely to depart if the price is right.

Thomas Partey

Out of contract this summer. There have been talks about a renewal, but it remains to be seen if that will come to fruition.

Jorginho

Another whose contract is up this season, and there do not appear to be negotiations over a renewal.

Fabio Vieira

Has been hit and miss in his loan spell with Porto. Could have a future still at the Emirates Stadium, but similarly could move on.

Albert Sambi Lokonga

Sevilla have an option to buy the midfielder at the end of his loan spell, and he does not look to have a future in north London.

Reiss Nelson

Has had good moments with Fulham, who are interested in signing him permanently.

Raheem Sterling

A loan deal from Chelsea that just has not worked out. He will be back with the Blues once the season ends.
