Paris Saint-Germain star Marquinhos has issued a clear message to Arsenal ahead of their Champions League clash this week.

The Gunners will face the newly crowned Ligue 1 champions in the semi-final of the Champions League with the first leg taking place at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Mikel Arteta's side will be hoping to secure a victory over two legs against the French giants, which would set up a place in the final in Munich against either Barcelona or Inter Milan.

Arsenal go into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace in the Premier League last week. PSG also dropped points in their latest fixture, losing 3-1 at home to Nice in Ligue 1.

The defeat for PSG saw their 30-game unbeaten run in the French top flight come to an end just says before facing Arsenal. One of the three goals PSG conceded came from a set-piece, and Marquinhos has pointed to that area of the game as being a strength for the Gunners going into their Champions League clash this week.

"We're very demanding and we're going to continue to be so," Marquinhos told DAZN.

"In football, there are strategies. Arsenal are strong from set pieces.

"We'll try to do our best to get a result there. We've had a very good season so far, we'll keep working hard."

Despite the Ligue 1 title already being wrapped up, Marquinhos could not hide the emotions he felt after PSG lost to Nice. The Brazilian went on to issue a message ahead of the clash against Arsenal this week.

"It was a missed opportunity [vs Nice]," said Marquinhos. "We don't like to lose, especially at home.

"Even though we're champions, these are points that count. It's an important moment in the season, it's not the time to have doubts.

"Even though we missed the game, we have to stay confident. There are important deadlines coming up, especially in terms of results."
