The win over Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night was undoubtedly one of Arsenal's most impressive in recent history.

A 2-1 victory and 5-1 aggregate triumph saw the Gunners march into the semi-finals of the Champions League and a clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Mikel Arteta 's men are now just three games away from creating history and winning the Champions League for the first time. And they know they have a team in front of them they can beat, having done it already this season.

Arsenal beat PSG 2-0 at home in the league phase of the competition, although the Parisiens do look a much tougher test now than that fixture back at the beginning of October.

Arsenal face Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, looking to get back on track after back-to-back draws domestically against Brentford and Everton.

But the Gunners players were afforded an opportunity to enjoy the superb result against Los Blancos before returning to work mode and the Premier League preparations.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Arteta revealed how the team celebrated their win in Madrid and it incorporated not flying home straight away. Normally after European away games, teams are on a plane back home straight afterwards, ready to prepare for the weekend's action.

However, that was not the case for the Gunners players on this occasion, perhaps given the magnitude of the result.

Arteta said: "We had a great dinner in Madrid after the game. A lot of happy faces, great energy, families around, it was a really beautiful evening and then the next morning, ready for the Premier League again, we started to prepare for Ipswich and the tough game we have ahead of us."
