Elden Ring movie gets March 2028 release date

Alex Garland is writing and directing the Elden Ring adaptation for A24.

A24’s Elden Ring movie is officially in production. Written and directed by Alex Garland, the film will star Cailee Spaeny, Kit Connor, and Nick Offerman. It’s scheduled to release on March 3, 2028.

A24 attached a release date to its Elden Ring movie this morning, as shared by The Hollywood Reporter. The studio has also rounded out the movie’s cast, which includes Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, and Emma Laird, in addition to the aforementioned actors. THR also reports that Elden Ring is A24’s largest production to date, with a reported budget of over $100 million.

Elden Ring will be the next film from Alex Garland, who previously directed Civil War, Annihilation, and Ex Machina. The movie is being filmed for IMAX.

We first heard word of the Elden Ring movie back in May of 2025. The 2022 video game on which it’s based has sold more than 30 million copies to date.
