Ryan Hurst cast as Kratos in God of War series

Hurst previously played Thor in God of War Ragnarok.

Prime Video has announced that Ryan Hurst will play Kratos in the upcoming God of War television series. Pre-production is currently underway in Vancouver.

Prime Video announced Ryan Hurst’s casting in a press release today. Hurst has appeared in numerous shows and movies dating back to the 1990s, with his most notable role likely being Harry "Opie" Winston in Sons of Anarchy. Fans of the God of War games will recognize him as the voice behind Thor in God of War Ragnarok.

The God of War show is being co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions. Ronald D. Moore is serving as showrunner, executive producer, and writer.

We first learned that Prime Video was working on a television adaptation of God of War back in 2022.
