The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time took center stage during the Zelda-themed Nintendo Direct this morning, and it brought several revelations about the upcoming remake. This included the fact that Nintendo has added voice acting to the game’s cutscenes as the company looks to modernize one of its most celebrated games.

We got to hear some of the voice acting during the trailer shown at the end of the Nintendo Direct. This includes Saria, who speaks to Link about leaving the forest that they call home, as well as Ganondorf, whose voiceover can be heard later in the trailer.

Nintendo clarified that voice acting will be limited to cutscenes. Also, this will not include Link, who will continue to be a boy (and man) of yelps and shouts rather than words and sentences.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time releases on Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. Nintendo will also release a Zelda-themed Switch 2 console, Pro Controller, and carrying case a week prior.
