The Duskbloods Closed Network Test had more players than Elden Ring Nightreign's

The Duskbloods Closed Network Test is currently ongoing and it has so far amassed more players than Elden Ring Nightreign’s Closed Network Test.

In an interview with Famitsu on August 22, 2026, FromSoftware sat down to discuss The Duskbloods and revealed that the Closed Network Test for this Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive had more players than the Elden Ring Nightreign Closed Network Test, which was available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Producer Yasuhiro Kitao stated his surprise at the number of players flocking to the network test as the Nintendo Switch 2 has not had titles like Nightreign. In fact, FromSoftware has very little presence on Nintendo Switch. This is about to change as Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is set to arrive at the end of August and The Duskbloods scheduled to release this year.

Shacknews CEO/EIC/EIEIO Asif Khan got hands-on time with the game across multiple days of play where he praised the shorter gameplay loop and faster pace compared to the developer’s mainline titles.
