If you’ve spent a good amount of time with Nintendo’s remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, you’ve probably noticed that items such as rupees and Business Deku Seeds are in short supply. Fortunately, you can use Amiibo to summon a random shower of items from the sky. Here’s how to use them.

How to use Zelda Amiibo

The first thing you need to know is that only The Legend of Zelda-themed Amiibo work with the Ocarina of Time remake. Sorry, Mario and friends, but you’ll have to sit this one out.

To use Amiibo, you’ll need to enable support for them in the game. Press the + button, then go to System → Options. Select Amiibo at the top of the list, then choose Enable.

After unpausing, you’ll find the Amiibo icon by holding the R button and scrolling to the far right. Select it, then press ZR to activate it. The game will prompt you to scan an Amiibo on your controller. Follow the on-screen guide; when the Amiibo registers, items will rain down from the sky.

Note that you can use as many Amiibo as you want, but you can only use each Amiibo once per day. Make them count!
