Xbox and Hideo Kojima announce Bill Skarsgard as lead star in Physint
The 'It' star joins fellow castmates Charlee Fraser and Don Lee.
by David Craddock · ShacknewsDuring the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast, Hideo Kojima announced that Hollywood actor Bill Skarsgard will take the lead role in Physint, Kojima’s upcoming action-espionage game recently snatched up by Microsoft.
“We are both long-time fans of each other’s work, and we've decided to embark on this new adventure together,” Kojima said in a press release. “The costume fittings, scans, and camera tests we conducted with Bill and [fellow co-star] Charlee [Fraser] earlier this year gave me tremendous confidence in the direction of the project.”
A Swedish actor and producer, Skarsgard is perhaps most famous for playing Pennywise the clown in It and It: Chapter Two, the most recent adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic horror novel.
As for Physint, Kojima's press release describes it as “the culmination of his 40-year career as a video game creator."
Last week, PlayStation announced the termination of its deal to publish Physint. It came as a shock, considering Sony and Kojima have been long-time collaborators. Microsoft swooped in to publish the game—a major get for the Xbox manufacturer.
