Nintendo (NTDOY) increases FY26 hardware sales forecast to 19 million Switch 2 console units
Nintendo Switch 2 is currently sitting at over 10 million units sold in five months.
by Sam Chandler · ShacknewsThe Nintendo Switch 2 has been exceedingly popular and Nintendo is confident this trend will continue. Today, the Big N has changed its hardware sales forecast, for the Switch 2 to almost 20 million units.
Nintendo released its Q2 FY26 earnings report on November 4, 2025. Within its reports, the Big N altered its forecast for the sale of Nintendo Switch 2 units. Nintendo has forecast it will sell 19 million units in its 2026 fiscal year ending in March 31. This isn’t one whole year, as the Nintendo Switch 2 released on June 5, 2025.
Previously, Nintendo had set expectations at 15 million Switch 2 console units sold. This is a four million unit increase since its May 2025 forecast. In addition to this, Nintendo is ramping up Switch 2 production to 25 million units by March 2026.
