There have been LEGO games for years, but it has been a long time since WB Games and Traveller's Tales joined forces for a LEGO Batman game. The Brick Knight finally came out of the Batcave during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 with an all-new LEGO-based adventure called LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (the first series title since LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham from 2014) will follow the early days of the Caped Crusader, starting with a young Bruce Wayne training with the League of Shadows and exploring his first years under the Bat mantle. Players will meet familiar parts of the Batman mythos like the various members of the Bat-family, as well as villains like Joker, Penguin, Ra's al Ghul, and more. Bane is also here and he's voiced by What We Do in the Shadows alumni Matt Berry.

In terms of gameplay, expect to see the familiar LEGO formula across an open-world Gotham City, but also expect to see elements of the classic Arkham series. Batman can team up with his friends in co-op play and these partner characters will have their own distinct gadgets to play with. While this game will feature family-friendly LEGO action, those looking for a challenge will be able to check out a new Dark Knight difficulty level that promises to take players through the wringer.
