Kirby and the World Beyond revealed for Spring 2027

The latest Nintendo Direct closed with a new Kirby game.

Nintendo announced Kirby and the World Beyond as the final reveal during the 2026 Nintendo Direct. The seemingly open-world Kirby game will take the pink character to new locations when it launches for Switch 2 in spring 2027.

The Kirby and the World Beyond trailer showed the character exploring large open areas, fighting enemies, and harnessing new abilities. In one sequence, we see him fighting King Dedede.

Next year marks the 35th anniversary of the Kirby series, and this game will be part of the anniversary celebration. In addition to Kirby and the World Beyond, Nintendo revealed games like Metroid Ravenous and a Switch 2 Edition of Pikmin 4 in today’s Nintendo Direct.
