Spyro: A Realm Beyond revealed for spring 2027

Activision Blizzard announced a new Spyro adventure at Xbox Games Showcase 2026.

At Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Activision Blizzard surprised Spyro fans with an all-new game: Spyro: A Realm Beyond. It’s a whole new game that’s coming in spring 2027 to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

The last new mainline Spyro the Dragon game was The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon in 2008 by the now-defunct French studio Étranges Libellules. When Toys for Bob picked up development duties on the franchise for Activision Blizzard, it launched the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which was a blast according to Shacknews Video Editor Greg Burke in his review.
