Premier extends condolences to Tun Abdullah’s family on behalf of Sarawakians

KUCHING (April 15): Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has conveyed a message of condolence on behalf of Sarawakians to the family of the late Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

In a post on his official Facebook page Sarawakku, it was stated that a letter containing the condolence message had been sent to Abdullah’s widow Tun Jeanne Abdullah.

In the letter, Abang Johari said Abdullah had devoted unwavering service to the country during his tenure as Malaysia’s fifth prime minister.

“His passing is certainly a great loss to the nation.

“I, on behalf of my family and the people of Sarawak, pray that Allah SWT showers His blessings upon the deceased’s soul and places him among the faithful. Amin, ” he wrote.

The Premier also stated that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof would represent the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government at Abdullah’s state funeral, held at the National Mosque at 11am.

“I and Puan Sri Hajjah Juma’ani would like to convey our condolences to Tun Jeanne and all family members on the demise of Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Sunday night.

“I hope the family will always be strong in accepting this ordeal and that everything will be eased,” he stated in the letter.
