Sabah BN and PH agree to establish communication channels for better collaboration
by nancy lai · Borneo Post OnlineKOTA KINABALU (Nov 5): Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah and Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah have agreed to establish channels of communication to refine their collaborative efforts in the state.
This includes being open to building relationships with other parties in preparation for the upcoming state election, according to a joint statement issued by the leaders of BN Sabah and PH Sabah today.
The joint statement followed an informal meeting between BN Sabah cum Umno Sabah chief Datuk Seri Panglima Bung Moktar Radin, PKR Sabah liaison chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) president Datuk Arthur Kurup, Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sabah vice chairman Jannie Lasimbang, Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) Sabah chief Datuk Teah Heok Kuin, United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) deputy president Datuk Donald Mojuntin, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Sabah chief Lahirul Latigu and Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) Sabah chief Peer Muhamad Kadir.
The meeting, held at a hotel here, aimed to foster a spirit of unity in line with the mutual understanding between the leaders of both parties, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
During the meeting, both BN Sabah and PH Sabah shared aspirations to ensure that the foundations of their cooperation would benefit the people and the state.
They also agreed that any form of mutual understanding for moving forward would be decided through discussions and consensus between the leadership of the two coalitions.
