Married couple found dead in bedroom of Sri Aman home

KUCHING (Jan 14): A husband and wife in their 40s have been found dead in a bedroom of their home in Taman Mutiara, Sri Aman.

Sin Chew Daily reported that the police have confirmed the case, which involved a headmaster and his wife, who worked as a nurse.

The report said investigations are ongoing and no further details were available.

It is understood the couple had two daughters and a son, and had lived in the house for many years.

Separately, the Education Department expressed its condolences to the family of Andy Roy Junran, a headmaster under the Lubok Antu District Education Office.

The department said it had lost a dedicated school leader, who carried out his duties and responsibilities with commitment in advancing and upholding the nation’s education system.

The department also extended its prayers for the deceased to rest in peace and for the family to be granted strength and resilience during this difficult time.

It is understood that Andy had only reported for duty as headmaster at SK Sbangki, Lubok Antu on Jan 5, while his wife was a nurse at Sri Aman Hospital.

As of the time of writing, Sri Aman police chief Supt Denise Bunyam has yet to issue a statement on the cause of the couple’s death.
