Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Allegedly Spent Millions Booking MSG for Their Wedding
· CosmopolitanThere have been a lot of wild reports about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding, but the most surprising? News that they’re getting married at Madison Square Garden—the famous arena right smack in the middle of New York City that holds 20,000 people.
While some fans think this MSG thing is a ruse to distract people from Taylor and Travis’s real wedding plans, it’s been reported by multiple outlets at this point—including TMZ who just dished on how much Taylor and Travis allegedly spent. According to them, the couple dropped “well into the millions” to rent out MSG for three full days: the wedding day itself, the day before to set up all the decor, and the day after to take it all down.
MSG reportedly charges ~$1 million per night (so presumably Taylor and Travis dropped ~$3 million total), and TMZ says they didn’t get a “special deal.” They also note that there are several “dark days” on the MSG calendar ahead of July 3 (Taylor’s alleged wedding day), which adds even more credence to this report.
As for why Taylor and Travis would choose MSG for their wedding, there are actually quite a few bonuses. For starters, it has the infrastructure to accommodate designs and decorations of any scope, and can be completely transformed. It also doesn’t have windows, which means the wedding will be entirely private, despite being in the middle of Manhattan. Paparazzi won’t be able to get photos, and drones won’t be an issue either. Meanwhile, there’s underground parking, which means that celebrity guests can come and go without being photographed.
The arena is also (obviously) big enough to accommodate Taylor and Travis’s massive guest list, which is said to be around 1,000 people!!!!!
