What is the Friday Night Lights reboot about?
· CosmopolitanFriday Night Lights hive, this one's for you. While we've been reciting Coach Taylor's famous "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose" mantra since the show's inception in 2006, we may be able to see a new coach take the reigns in the Friday Night Lights cinematic universe.
Per Deadline, a reboot of the critically acclaimed NBC series is in the works, which means we'll get to witness a new twist to the original story we fell in love with during the 2000s. Here's everything we know about the upcoming project so far, from its plot and cast to its potential release date.
According to Deadline, a "new iteration of the football drama" is in its early stages and will follow high school football, featuring new characters instead of the OG cast. In case you need a refresher, the show followed Coach Eric Taylor as he led a small-town Texas football team, the Dillon Panthers, through wins and losses in their high school careers.

Is anyone returning for the reboot?
While Kyle Chandler, Connie Britton, Taylor Kitsch, and Jesse Plemons brought their beloved characters to life in the original series, it's unlikely that they'll reprise their roles in the new project. Since the reboot will likely follow a new generation of characters, we can assume that new talent will be cast as key players.
