Zoo is the buzzy new Telegram game that promises players a share of an upcoming airdrop—simply for jumping in a few times a day and building up their own zoo with as many animals as possible. It’s a slightly different concept to the many tap-to-earn games we have seen over the last year, but just like them, it’s all about maximizing your efficiency to get the biggest airdrop allocation possible.

When you first open Zoo, you are met with an empty field and are tasked with turning it into a thriving zoo with as many animals as possible—and it’s relatively easy to do so. You’ll spend in-game currency to add new creatures to your park, and then watch the passive income come in from paying guests.

It sounds incredibly simple, and in practice it is—but if you really want to make the most of your time in Zoo, then things go a bit deeper than you might initially realize.

When the airdrop rolls around, the amount of currency your animals earn you in-game will translate 1:1 to airdropped tokens. If you want to grow the biggest pile possible before the January 31 cutout, then we’ve compiled a few tips and tricks to make sure you generate the most in-game Zoo currency.

Keep ‘em fed

A tip for both the Zoo game and real life: Make sure you feed your animals on time. Throughout the day, your animals will get hungry—and when they are hungry in Zoo, they stop earning you any kind of income. Talk about a hunger strike!

Anyway, you’ll need to log into the game and feed your animals as soon as the hunger sets in. This happens every two hours, so checking in every couple of hours is generally a good idea to make sure you keep the missed income to a minimum.

You’ll also always need some Animal Feed in-game to actually be able to do this, so make sure you don’t go spending it all on new animals at the expense of being able to feed the ones you already have.

Grab the free drops

This took us an embarrassingly long time to figure out, but that proves just how difficult it is to maximize your potential in Zoo. Up to three times a day, an item will drop somewhere in your zoo. Tap it and you’ll get some kind of reward. This is mostly in the form of animal food tokens, which is an easy way to accelerate your zoo.

These drops are rare and only last for a few minutes, so claiming one comes down to chance as much as anything. Unless you have the game open 24/7, you’ll want to check in as often as possible and check all of your Zoo to see if a drop has arrived. If it has, be sure to tap it and claim the reward before it disappears.

Join an alliance

There is an incredibly simple way to massively boost your income in Zoo, and that is to join an alliance. Alliances are effectively groups of players who all work together to level up their crew, and thus the bonus income they can collectively earn. The higher level your alliance gets to, which is essentially based on the amount of people that join, the higher token generation multiplier you get.

It does cost Animal Feed tokens to get into an alliance, but after you have a few animals, it’s a good investment as the percentage multiplier keeps stacking the more you earn. It shouldn’t be your first purchase, but after you have a decent-sized zoo set up, then you should join the highest-level alliance you can. Always be sure to join the alliance that is closest to leveling up so you can essentially get a free upgrade ASAP.

Complete the daily riddle and rebus

Not much needs to be explained on this one, but be sure to complete the daily riddle and daily rebus question every day to get lots of free animal feed. The riddle asks you a simple animal-related question, while the rebus puzzle is usually a simple matter of deducing an animal name based on the image clues.

Stumped, or don’t want to tax your brain too much? No worries—we’ve put together a quick guide that we’re updating daily with the current solutions, so just click here for that. In a game where ways of getting the main in-game currency for free are limited, this is a surprisingly easy option to get a solid daily income to keep your zoo running.

Oh, and be sure to claim the free daily animal feed reward offered for logging in. That one is hopefully obvious.

Find the best return

Sometimes buying the fancy new animal is not the best return for your money, as leveling up your existing animals or joining an alliance might give you more Zoo tokens per hour.

Zoo is actually quite generous at revealing what each upgrade or new animal will give you, so when it comes to spending Animal Feed on some upgrades for your establishment, always check to make sure that you are getting the best bang for your buck.
