Meta has announced two new pairs of smart glasses at Meta Connect 2026. The company unveiled its first camera-free, audio-only Ray Ban Meta Audio, along with a new pair of virtual reality glasses simply called Meta VR Glasses.

The Meta VR Glasses use a two-part system, with the glasses housing the display and sensors, while a connected puck handles the computing and houses the storage and battery. The glasses connect to the puck via an optical cable.

Thanks to this two-part design, the glasses themselves weigh just 100 grams. They feature micro OLED displays with 5K resolution and 37 pixels per degree, along with support for Dolby Vision.

The frames house the speakers, which support Dolby Atmos spatial audio. Meta has also integrated its Meta AI agent into the operating system. The built-in sensors allow users to control the glasses using eye movements and hand gestures.

The Meta VR Glasses are powered by the newly announced Snapdragon Reality Elite chipset and are claimed to offer up to three hours of usage with the connected puck. The puck also supports 45W fast charging.

The virtual reality glasses are IMAX Enhanced certified and support 3D movies, as well as games through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The Meta VR Glasses will also feature Hologram Calling, which is claimed to create a photorealistic representation of the user for video calls, complete with real-time facial expressions and reactions.

The Meta VR Glasses will be available in Spring 2027, starting at $1,299 in the US.

Alongside the VR Glasses, Meta also announced its first camera-free smart glasses, the Ray-Ban Meta Audio.

The new audio-only glasses weigh 43 grams and are claimed to deliver up to 12 hours of usage on a single charge, and up to 48 hours with the charging case.

The smart glasses are available in 23 color and lens combinations in new Clubmaster and Burbank styles.

The Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses are priced at $349 and will go on sale starting October 13.
