Oscars Best Original Song Commentary (Updated Dec. 11, 2025): With 15 songs angling for the shortlist, there’s reserved seating for the animated frontrunner — “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters” — and two from Ryan Coogler’s monster hit “Sinners” — “I Lied to You” and “Last Time (I Seen the Sun).”The rest of the contenders are expected to be a mix including Diane Warren’s entry from her documentary about her life, either of the two original numbers from “Wicked: For Good” and songs from “F1,” “Highest 2 Lowest” and perhaps even “The Testament of Ann Lee.”
