A security camera that turns to follow someone can lose sight of the rest of your yard. The Reolink OMVI 2i Ultra keeps a fixed wide view while a second camera follows movement. It’s available in the US starting October 21 for $229.99 on Amazon, including a 6W solar panel that mounts on the camera or separately.
It’s built for driveways, entrances and side yards without a nearby outlet. The OMVI 2i Ultra combines an 8MP 4K fixed camera, a 5MP 3K pan-tilt camera and a detachable 10,000mAh battery. You can save recordings locally without a required subscription.

Keep the overview while following the action
The fixed lens keeps the wider area in view while the moving lens follows a person, vehicle or animal. SyncTrack coordinates the two views, so tracking a visitor doesn’t mean losing the driveway entrance.
The lower camera pans 355 degrees and tilts 55 degrees. It can follow a subject beyond the fixed camera’s view, and auto framing adjusts the tracked image. Tap a point in the wide-angle feed to aim the moving camera there.
That gives you an overview and a closer look without manually steering through the camera’s full range.
Position the camera for the view and the panel for sunlight
The 6W panel doesn’t have to stay attached to the camera. The quick-start guide shows both an integrated mount and a separate installation connected by an extension cable.
Separate mounting lets you keep the camera under an eave or beside a shaded entrance while placing the panel in sunlight.
The battery’s advertised six-month runtime assumes just five minutes of recording per day, plus standby. It isn’t a continuous-recording estimate. More activity and frequent live viewing will change how often you need to charge it.
The solar charging claim is 30 minutes of sunlight per day to sustain operation. That’s not a guarantee for a shaded wall or winter weather. Choose the panel’s position for the sunlight it actually gets.
Local storage without the monthly plan
Recordings can go to a microSD card up to 512GB or a Reolink Home Hub. The card is sold separately. Recording is motion-triggered, not continuous.
On-device detection distinguishes people, vehicles and animals. You also get two-way audio, dual PIR sensors, infrared and color night vision, a motion-activated spotlight, and siren and light deterrence. You don’t need a monthly plan for those advertised features.
Our fall smart-home roundup previewed this model before launch. The $229.99 listing is the wire-free OMVI 2i Ultra with its solar panel, not the OMVI 2i PoE camera.

If you’ve got sunlight but no convenient outlet, this puts an overview and a tracking camera in one installation. Check your mounting position, expected recording activity and storage needs before buying.
