Man injured in Blanchardstown attack dies in hospital

A man in his 30s who was left in a critical condition following a serious assault in Blanchardstown last weekend has died.

The man was found unconscious on the Mill Road shortly after 4.20pm on Sunday, after he was attacked while out for a walk.

He was being treated for his injuries in Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, where he died this afternoon.

Gardaí have said two teenage boys who were arrested yesterday as part of the garda investigation have been charged in connection with the attack.

They are due to appear in court this evening.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.

They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who travelled on Mill Lane, either on foot or by car, between 4pm and 5pm on 17 May.
