Man, 30s, arrested in Waterford death investigation

The body of the woman, who is believed to be aged in her 80s, was discovered at a house in a rural area at Ardsallagh near Youghal Bridge yesterday afternoon.
Gardaí have said that a post-mortem examination will be carried out, the results of which will assist them in determining the course of their inquiries.
The local coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified.
A Garda Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to support the woman's family.
The man is being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a garda station in the south eastern region.
Last night, gardaí carried out checkpoints in the area as they searched for an individual of potential interest to their inquiries.
Motorists travelling through the area had been advised to immediately alert gardaí if they saw anyone seeking a lift or walking across fields.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for any witnesses, particularly anyone who was in the Ardsallagh or Youghal Bridge areas in recent days.
Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings from the area, have also been urged to come forward.
