Blakeman blasts Hochul for sanctuary policies as two spar on immigration after NYC ICE shooting
· New York PostGov. Kathy Hochul and GOP challenger Bruce Blakeman sparred early on federal immigration enforcement in the wake of ICE agents shooting a man in the Marble Hill neighborhood of The Bronx.
“What was the guy doing in the state in the first place?” Blakeman said, railing, “He’s a gangbanger.
“I back law enforcement, and I back the laws of both our federal government, our state government, and I give our law enforcement professionals the tools they need to keep us safe,” the Nassau exec continued.
Hochul charged Blakeman with supporting reckless ICE agents.
“He’d be fine if ICE agents shoot into cars, shoot guns into vehicles, not knowing who’s inside and could have killed a five-year-old child,” she said.
