Wimbledon women’s final pick: Linda Noskova vs. Karolina Muchova prediction, odds, best bet

· New York Post

The odds could hardly be tighter for the women’s final at Wimbledon on Saturday.

No. 10 seed Karolina Muchova is a nominal -125 favorite (DraftKings) over fellow Czech Linda Noskova.

No matter who wins, it will be the third time in four years a native of Czechia has won the Women’s title at the All England Club.

Neither Muchova, 29, nor Noskova, 21, have ever won a Grand Slam title, but the former has a decided edge in experience.

This is Muchova’s second appearance in a major final and her fifth trip to the semifinals or better.

Noskova had been to one Grand Slam quarterfinal before her current run.

That experience should prove vital for Muchova, as the rest of the tale of the tape feels like a wash.

Not only have both Noskova and Muchova faced similarly daunting paths to the finals, but they each checked into Wimbledon in similarly terrific form, with each finalist winning a grass-court title in the lead-up to the fortnight at the All England Club.

If you take a further step back, the similarities continue.

Muchova (No. 9) is just three spots ahead of Noskova (No. 12) in the WTA’s world rankings, and Tennis Abstract’s ELO model has Muchova just a shade better at No. 7, compared to No. 14 for Noskova.

With so little separating these two countrywomen on the court, we’ll lean on the intangibles to prove the difference.

Muchova may not have a Grand Slam title in her account just yet, but she’s got meaningful experience in these moments. Noskova has none.

In a matchup that’s billed to be this tight, and odds that are just telling you to flip a coin, that edge is enough to warrant a bet on the favorite in Saturday’s final at the All England Club.
