The wait in Milwaukee is finally over — the Brewers have won their first-ever World Series crown.

Behind Jacob Misiorowski’s 5 2/3 scoreless innings, the Brewers beat the Rays 4-1 in Game 5 to win the Fall Classic four games to one.

Cooper Pratt, who was nearly the Game 4 hero, went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. David Hamilton and William Contreras each had an RBI.

The Brewers, who began play in the American League as the Seattle Pilots in 1969 before moving to Milwaukee a year later, had only made the World Series once in 1982. Now, 57 years after their inception, they’re at the top of the baseball world.

The Rays have now been to the World Series three times but are still looking for their first championship.
