Scotland v Wales start time and TV channel for Six Nations

by · Wales Online

Scotland host Wales in round four of the Six Nations.

Matt Sherratt's second match in charge of Wales sees him go up against Gregor Townsend's Scots at Murrayfield. A strong performance against Ireland has filled Welsh rugby fans with hope going into the final two games, but they have a tough task in Edinburgh.

Scotland have suffered back-to-back defeats to Ireland and England, with their result against the latter particularly frustrating. Duhan van der Merwe crossed in the 78th minute with Finn Russell missing the conversion for the win.

The fallow week has given the bulk of the starters a chance to regroup and recover ahead of the penultimate round of action, and the teams will be going head-to-head for the Doddie Weir Cup.

It'll be the 130th match-up between the two sides, with Wales winning 75 and the Scots having 52 victories, with three draws. However, Scotland have won the last two meetings, and the last encounter at Murrayfield resulted in a 35-7 win for Scotland - the biggest ever winning margin in this fixture.

However, Scotland have not won at home twice in a row against Wales since their five-game streak between 1987 and 1995. Here's everything you need to know about the match.

What have the coaches said?

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend: "You could argue that they had opportunities to win that game on the balance of play. They dominated large parts of it. They're a quality side. They've been on a run where they've had those defeats, but they've got some really good players.

"They've got experienced players back now and they're playing with freedom. I'm sure they'll come up with that spirit of wanting to try things this weekend."

Wales interim head coach Matt Sherratt: "I've sensed a lot of positivity which has been brilliant for the players. A lot has been made about three training sessions but the staff has been brilliant. The set-piece was excellent because of Humphs and Bomb. TR has come in too. Everyone has felt that support. It may add expectation, but the players have that. They want to go up there and build on what they’ve done."
