Celebrity MasterChef star admits 'feeling delusional' during 'jeopardised' time on show

EXCLUSIVE: Former Love Island star Chloe Burrows shared why signing up for Celebrity MasterChef wasn't the best timing for her, as she reflected on her experience in the famous kitchen

Celebrity MasterChef star Chloe Burrows has said signing up for the show wasn't the best timing for her, as she was jet-lagged from Australia.

The 28-year-old took on the cooking competition in a bid to improve her culinary skills and make her mum proud, following many years of them watching the show together.

Despite her best efforts, the ex Love Island star was given the boot from the series following blunders including an uncooked brownie.

While her experience didn't last as long as she hoped, Chloe said she loved every minute including meeting long-term hosts Gregg Wallace and John Torode.

Reflecting on signing up, however, she admitted "feeling delusional" and not her best self following a trip to Australia.

She told Reach PLC: "If I'm really honest, I'd just landed from Australia 12 hours before, so I actually didn't know what time of day it was or whether I was coming or going.

"It wasn't the best timing but it was an opportunity I was never going to pass on.

"My mum is such a huge fan, I used to watch it with her like growing up.

"I mean it's MasterChef, who's going to say no to MasterChef? The odds were not in my favour, like, I was delusional, you know, but I tried my best and that's all you can do."

Quizzed on whether she believes her experience would've been better if she wasn't jet-lagged, she replied: "A good worker never blames their tools, whatever happened, happened, and I'm very OK with it."

Tonight, finalists; Strictly Come Dancing professional Vito Coppola, actress Rochenda Sandall and This Morning's Craig Doyle will compete to be crowned the Celebrity MasterChef 2024 champion.

For their final supper, they will each create a high standard main course and dessert in the hope of impressing Gregg and John one last time.

Chloe is the face of Deliveroo's ultimate Fresher’s Week grub - The Boost Burger - which helps fuel students through their first week of university. “I WISH I had the Boost Burger when I was at university," she shared.

"It’ll come as no surprise that I was the queen of burning the candle at both ends, so it would’ve really come in handy during my time at the University of Liverpool. I had so much fun delivering the first batch of burgers to Freshers with Deliveroo - there’s nothing like a juicy burger to please tired uni students, so I personally think I really saved the day!”.

Dropping in London (17th September), Bristol (19th September), Manchester (21st September), and Edinburgh (23rd September), uni students can get their hands on the Boost Burger for just 99p (vs the non-student price of £9.90), saving them a whopping 90% when they sign up to become members of Deliveroo Students.

Celebrity MasterChef concludes tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
