Netflix Squid Game fans will soon be able to buy cereal inspired by show from Morrisons

From next week, fans of the popular Netflix series Squid Game will be able to get their hands on a cereal inspired by the show.

Hitting the shelves on January 20, this Honeycomb Crisp flavoured cereal is inspired by the Dalgona Cookie challenge from the show; a task where participants had to make exact shapes from fragile honeycomb candy.

The cereal had a sell-out launch online before Christmas but will now hit the shelves in Morrisons stores throughout the UK. Priced at £3.50 for each 425g box, BEST Cereal's Honeycomb Crisp also presents fans with an opportunity to win a sizable cash prize of £4,560 - a reference to the Squid Game character nicknamed Player 456.

The cereal boasts packaging that features a red soldier, giving it a Squid Game aesthetic. Owned by YouTube group the Sidemen, which includes personalities such as boxer and influencer KSI and streamer Miniminter, BEST Cereal is one of many businesses started by the collective. Previous ventures have included Sides, a chain of restaurants, and the Sidemen Clothing line.

Jordan Schwarzenberger, manager for the Sidemen, expressed his excitement: "BEST Cereal are 'ready to play' with the launch of our new Honeycomb Crisp flavoured cereal, in partnership with Netflix's Squid Game.

"Our aim was to capture what fans adore about Netflix's sensational series and celebrate it through breakfast, selecting a flavour and design influenced by the nerve-wracking Dalgona Cookie task, turning it into a fun, tasty morning meal option that followers are sure to relish."

Squid Games, which debuted on Netflix in 2021, holds the record as the most-viewed programme in the history of the streaming service.

Eager fans had to wait three years for the second season, which was released on December 26, 2024. Both seasons have also been praised by critics and have bagged several awards, including the Bingeworthy Show of the Year at the 2021 People's Choice Awards.
