Why Mike Tyson was biting gloves vs Jake Paul as bizarre reason explained
by Josh Holland, Alex Richards · Wales OnlineMike Tyson humorously admitted to having a "biting fixation" after repeatedly gnawing on his boxing gloves during his comeback fight against Jake Paul. Amidst Netflix streams crashing and fans exiting the main event in Dallas, Tyson's first professional bout in 19 years concluded in defeat.
The 58-year-old former heavyweight champion was no match for the 27-year-old YouTube sensation, who triumphed with scores of 80-72 from two judges and 79-73 from the third. Post-fight, the pair shared an embrace in the ring, with announcer Ariel Helwani questioning Tyson about his glove-biting habit.
"I have a habit of biting my gloves when I fight," Tyson responded, reports the Mirror, adding: "I have a biting fixation."

Despite struggling to keep up with Paul and landing few notable punches, Tyson insisted he was content with his performance. "I am happy," he declared.
"I knew he was a good fighter. I knew he was prepared. I didn't prove nothing to anybody, only to myself. I am just happy with what I can do."
The man once dubbed the 'Baddest man on the planet' also praised Paul, acknowledging him as a "very good fighter".
Paul, reflecting on his victory in a Netflix interview, expressed his admiration, saying: "Mike Tyson, it's such an honour. Let's give it up for Mike, the greatest to ever do it. We wouldn't be here without him today with him, this man is an icon. It's just an honour to be able to fight him. It was really tough fight. I expected it to be."
He continued, describing the experience in the ring: "He was exactly what I thought. One of the greatest to ever do it. An icon. I was trying to hurt him a little bit. I was scared he was going to hurt me. I did my best."
Unfortunately, despite Paul's concerns about Tyson's power, it proved to be an unchallenging match, leading to fans leaving partway as it became apparent how one-sided the event was.
