Oleksandr Usyk beats Tyson Fury again as angry Brit left fuming

In a stunning repeat performance, Oleksandr Usyk outclassed Tyson Fury to retain his heavyweight world titles. Dominating much of the fight, Usyk left Fury struggling to leverage his size advantage.

Following their first encounter seven months prior, Usyk was unanimously declared the winner by all three judges with a score of 116-112, as Fury promptly exited the ring post-verdict.

Usyk expressed his joy succinctly: "I win," he stated. "I win, thank you God. I had good preparation, my wife helped me. For me this is a very happy day. My son won his judo belt and said to me, 'Papa, you are next'."

The champion's emotions were palpable as he dedicated his triumph to his mother.

The scene intensified when Daniel Dubois, who suffered a defeat at the hands of Usyk last summer, stepped up, prompting Usyk to challenge: "Make me a fight with Daniel Dubois," reports the Mirror.

Fury remained silent after the loss, but his promoter Frank Warren openly questioned the judges' decision: "It's impossible," he remarked. "How did Tyson only get four rounds in this fight? I'm not biased. Everyone across the front all thought the same way. It's nuts. Did you only give him four rounds. Nuts. I don't get it. Really disappointed with that. I thought Tyson was in control. Thought he boxed extremely well. But anyway. It is what it is."

Fury, who later expressed his belief that he won by at least three rounds, made his way to the ring dressed as Santa Claus, complete with the bushy beard that Usyk's team had insisted he shave. Usyk, on the other hand, was all business as he entered the ring with minimal fuss.

The rivals touched gloves and Fury immediately tried to use his four-stone weight advantage to take control of the centre of the ring.

The British boxer attempted to establish his jab while Usyk aimed to land his left on his opponent's midriff. It was this backhand to the body that started to pay off in the second round as neither fighter backed down.

However, a right hand briefly halted Usyk in the final seconds as Fury sought to fulfil his pre-fight promise of a knockout.

Usyk switched his focus to Fury's head with the same left hand, but Fury retaliated with a similar shot to the body. The challenger ended the round successfully using his jab as the rivals began to understand each other's strategies once more.

Usyk started the fourth round with consecutive left hands, matching Fury's aggression with his own. The champion appeared to have taken control of the round as he landed another hit to the head when Fury switched to southpaw.

Usyk resumed his attacks on Fury's body at the start of the fifth round, but it was Fury who landed the first significant punch. He also had success with body shots, possibly edging ahead on the scorecards once more.

The sixth round was quieter until Fury landed a straight right, but Usyk quickly responded with a left hand upstairs. Another left from Usyk momentarily threw Fury off balance, leaving the rematch evenly balanced at the halfway point.

Fury landed a solid right hand in the seventh round, but Usyk was the more active fighter as we moved into the second half. Another left from Usyk put Fury in difficulty as he struggled to find a response.

It was during this stage in their first fight that Usyk asserted his dominance - and he was quick to rise from his stool for the eighth round. Usyk's pressure was relentless, causing Fury to start holding on.

However, Fury started the ninth round stronger, seemingly finding a second wind. But Usyk finished the round on top again, landing a left hand. Fury began the 10th round with a body shot, trying to push Usyk back. The champion reciprocated, but his challenger found his opponent's body again.

A final left hand from Usyk proved to be the decisive blow of the round.

Usyk started the penultimate round with a strong body attack, appearing more composed than his opponent as he landed a left hand that pushed Fury onto the defensive.

Despite encouragement from his corner to finish the fight, Fury couldn't find the knockout blow he needed against a determined Usyk. After the result was announced, Fury promptly exited the ring.

In an undercard bout, Dave Allen was denied victory against Johnny Fisher despite knocking down the undefeated prospect. Fisher controlled the early rounds, but a fifth-round knockdown shifted momentum in Allen's favour.

Despite dominating much of the remaining fight, only one judge scored the bout in Allen's favour.

Meanwhile, British heavyweight hopeful Moses Itauma demonstrated his potential by stopping Demsey McKean in the first round. McKean, an Australian whose only previous loss was to Filip Hrgovic in the final round, was knocked down by Itauma before being finished off later in the round.

Ishmael Davis was knocked down in the second round by Serhii Bohachuk before his corner decided to pull him out in the sixth round, having stepped in at two weeks' notice to face the formidable Ukrainian. Lee McGregor continued his comeback journey with a points victory over Isaac Lowe, while Peter McGrail had a tough fight against late-replacement opponent Rhys Edwards but managed to win on all three judges' cards.
