Luke Littler reveals real feelings on Fallon Sherrock after PDC World Darts draw

by · Wales Online

Luke Littler, the teenage darting sensation, has shown his respect for Fallon Sherrock, discussing the possibility of a match-up at the PDC World Darts Championship. Sherrock, known as the 'Queen of the Palace', is set to challenge Ryan Meikle in the tournament's first round next month.

If she triumphs over Meikle, she could face last year's finalist in an exciting clash. Littler, who will enter the competition in the second round, spoke about the potential of facing Sherrock following the draw announcement earlier this week.

The Premier League champion expressed admiration for Sherrock, who shocked the sports world in 2019 by becoming the first woman to win a world championship match, reaching the third round. He recalled how "it was incredible to watch" when he was just 12 years old.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the now 17 year old said: "If I do come across her, I don't know what the crowd would be like. Against Fallon, it might be a bit different. I don't think anyone really missed it [when Sherrock reached the third round]. It was incredible to watch."

Almost a year after his own stunning performance at the tournament, Littler is buzzing with anticipation for his return to Ally Pally, stating: "Good luck to them both. It should be a really interesting game, because Ryan's playing really good, and so is Fallon.", reports the Mirror.

"It won't be easy [against either of them]. No game will be easy this year, but it'll be a tough test for both of them facing each other in the first round. Either way, I'm very confident, whoever wins. I just can't wait to get on stage. Ever since the Worlds [last year] it has been crazy – this is where it all started for me. The buzz is there, I can feel it."

Sherrock, who hasn't progressed past the opening round in her last three world championship appearances, is hopeful for a more successful run this time following the draw, as she looks forward to the potential matchup against the young star. She took to her X account (previously known as Twitter) to express her excitement: "So I now know I'll be playing Ryan Meikle in round one at the @OfficialPDC World Championship," adding, "The winner will play a certain Mr Littler in round two. Can't wait to play at the Palace again."
