Big Brother hosts AJ and Will explain why they're more excited for new series
Big Brother is back for a second outing of its civilian edition and hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best couldn't be more excited about the new series
by Hamaiz Iqbal · Wales OnlineAfter a triumphant return to ITV2 last October, Big Brother is set for another series with the general public taking centre stage.
Presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best are returning to guide viewers through the original social experiment, and their excitement is palpable.
The duo has shared that they're looking forward to having more fun this time around, as their initial nerves have settled after hosting the iconic reality show for the first time.
In a conversation with the Mirror among other outlets, Will shared: "The first series there were so many nerves, we wanted to do justice to the format, we wanted to do justice to the show we ourselves love and would be avid fans of and watching."
He continued, reflecting on the positive reception of the reboot: "Now that we've seen how the audience responded to the way it was all put together, to the tone that was struck to the set, to the new house, to the feel it had being an ITV show, now that we've seen that worked - the feedback has been so lovely from people getting in touch and saying how much they loved it and how much it meant to them", reports the Mirror.
"This time I just want to focus on just enjoying it, we did enjoy the first one but there was that pressure, but now we'll have fun with it," he revealed.
AJ chimed in with her thoughts: "I'm going into this next series with more excitement. What I've learnt from previous series is that you just never know what's going to happen."
Last year, the show made its comeback on ITV for a six-week stint, introducing a fresh group of housemates to Britain's most famous TV residence.
After six weeks of tasks, disagreements and plenty of fun, Jordan Sangha emerged as the winner of the show.
The success of the first civilian series led to a celebrity edition airing on ITV1 earlier this year, with Ibiza Weekender star David Potts taking home the crown.
Originally broadcast on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2010, the show launched several stars into the limelight, including Alison Hammond, Josie Gibson and Kate Lawler.
Davina McCall was the host of the show, which culminated in Ultimate Big Brother, where some familiar faces returned for one last stay in the house.
Following a year's hiatus, Big Brother made a comeback on Channel 5, ushering in a new era with Emma Willis at the helm.
Emma Willis succeeded Brian in 2013, continuing to host the show until its conclusion in 2018.
Big Brother returns Sunday 6th October, 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
