ITV I'm A Celebrity fans slam change to show format as they label it 'stupid'

I'm A Celebrity fans have picked up on a significant alteration to the show immediately as this season's campmates set foot in camp.

The celebrity line-up hitting our screens for the 2024 edition includes names like Danny Jones, Coleen Rooney, and Tulisa. Each faced the initial challenge of a daunting route into the jungle, braving skydiving, boating, driving, or trekking.

Upon arriving, they traded their normal clothes for the familiar jungle outfits. Traditionally, the celebrities would don blue tops, red bottoms, and beige hats, personalised with both their name and a unique number on the back. The number system allowed viewers to directly vote for contestants either to remain in the game or to face gruelling Bushtucker Trials, reports the Mirror.

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! returned for a new series

This season has unveiled a notable tweak: the numbers have vanished. Instead, each shirt now sports only the respective celebrities full name and no number as there are no phone lines anymore.

Fans took to social media to express their thoughts, with one remarking: "Oh they've gotten rid of the numbers on the clothes #ImACeleb." Another said: "Hate that they have their full name on the back of their shirts and no number to call it looks stupid."

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! has fired up for a new season, packing an array of fresh-faced celebs ready to tackle the notorious challenges. The show welcomes back its dynamic hosting duo, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

Contestants are bracing themselves to face everything from the dreaded Bushtucker Trials to the head-scratching conundrums at Kiosk Kev's, all vying to dethrone 2023 champion Sam Thompson.

A mix of celebrities had been revealed leading up to the show, including the likes of Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, and Oti Mabuse. But in I'm A Celeb tradition, viewers can anticipate unexpected latecomers - and it has been suggested that Love Island star Maura Higgins and the Reverend Richard Coles might soon emerge as surprise additions to the camp.
