Tyson Fury is poised to forfeit nearly half of his earnings from the eagerly awaited rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. The 36 year old British heavyweight stands to earn an estimated £60 million for his fight against the Ukrainian in Saudi Arabia.

However, should Usyk, who clinched a split-decision win over Fury in their initial encounter last May, emerge victorious once more, Fury's losses will extend beyond the ring. JeffBet's data analysts have calculated that almost £30 million of Fury's prize money will be claimed by the tax authorities due to UK income tax and national insurance contributions upon his return.

In total, around 47% of his winnings are expected to be handed over to His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), with about £28 million going towards income tax and another £1.2 million for National Insurance.

The fight's purse, shared between Usyk and Fury, is reportedly worth a whopping £150 million. With Usyk's previous victory, he is anticipated to receive a greater share, possibly 60%.

A JeffBet spokesperson commented on Fury's tax situation: "If you are a resident in the UK you have to pay tax on overseas earnings in the same way, and that remains the same no matter how much someone might earn.", reports the Express.

They added: "Good tax advice is always important and in this case you can be sure the Fury camp will have looked at an agreement that would be the most beneficial."

While financial considerations are a factor, Tyson Fury, also known as the Gypsy King, has remained steadfast in his determination to avenge his only professional loss. He recently revealed that he hasn't spoken to his wife Paris for three months to maintain absolute focus.

Discussing his strategy for the upcoming fight, Fury said: "A little bit more focus if anything. More laser focus and not as much clowning.

"If I take them two things to the game-plan then that would be a bit more successful. There's not big margins here. They only gave it to him by a point, [it could have been] a split decision either way, draw, whatever. So there's not massive things we could easily change."

"But how about this one? How about I took that 10-8 round away in round nine? It's not a draw anymore is it or a win by a point, it's a clear win. A little bit less fooling and a little bit more focus, laser focus and I should do the job."
