Marcel Somerville is gearing up to feature in the second series of ITV2's Love Island All Stars, set to air in a few days.

The popular dating show will welcome back Maya Jama as host, with the action unfolding in South Africa. The programme brings together former islanders for another shot at finding love.

One participant likely to stir up some drama is Marcel. The 39 year old, who was part of the third series in 2017, finished in fourth place alongside Gabby Allen.

Their relationship continued after the show but ended when Marcel was unfaithful during a holiday. He later fell for Rebecca Vieira, and they married in August 2022. However, Marcel moved out and erased all traces of her from his social media in March last year following allegations of her affair with a US pop star, reports OK!.

She confessed to "cheating" on the Blazin Squad member and issued an apology soon after. News of Marcel's return to Love Island has surprised fans, given that he remains legally married to Rebecca, although they are divorcing.

The timeline of their separation remains unclear. Speaking to MailOnline, Marcel shared: "I've gone through a little bit of a crazy time in my life. I'll talk more about it at a later time, as I'm not really ready to talk about what's going on right now. We're working through the situation to get the best outcome that we can."

When questioned about the potential appearance in Love Island All Stars at the time, he made it clear that such an endeavour is not on his radar: "I'm married, so doing it isn't in my view right now, and it wouldn't have been at the time."

The announcement that Marcel and Gabby would be returning to the Love Island All Stars set social media abuzz and Rebecca responded by revealing a glimpse into her life post-reveal.
