Liverpool's clash with Aston Villa could be rescheduled as key fixtures loom for Arne Slot's side

Liverpool's clash with Aston Villa will be rescheduled for Wednesday, February 19, should the Reds make it through to the Carabao Cup final, which will take place at Wembley on Sunday, March 16. Arne Slot's side face Tottenham in the second leg of the semi-final on Thursday evening.
The Reds are looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit after Lucas Bergvall's goal secured victory for Tottenham in north London in early January.
Liverpool's match at Villa Park is currently scheduled for a 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday, March 15, with the kick-off time subject to change should Unai Emery's side be drawn to play away in the Champions League.
And after Villa joined Liverpool in the last 16 of the competition on Wednesday evening with a win over Celtic, it means both clubs now have the midweek of February 18/19 free after they avoided the new playoff round.
Liverpool face Manchester City on Sunday, February 23, with Pep Guardiola's side drawn to face Real Madrid in the Champions League midweek prior to the match at the Etihad after both European giants missed out on an automatic entry into the last 16.
And therefore it means that, should the Reds overcome Tottenham and secure their place in the final of the Carabao Cup, Slot's side will lose any advantage provided by having a rest from midweek matches in the build-up to the clash against City, which could have huge implications on the title race.
Liverpool next face Bournemouth in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
