Celebs and Costars React to Catherine O'Hara's Death: Pedro Pascal and More

Catherine O'Hara's death at age 71 has rocked the celebrity world, with many of her former costars and friends reacting to the tragic news.

O'Hara died on Friday, January 30, at her home in Los Angeles "following a brief illness," according to a statement from her agency, Creative Artists Agency.

The legendary actress was known for her roles in Home Alone, Beetlejuice, Schitt's Creek and more.

The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal was among the first to react to the news after O'Hara appeared in the HBO drama's second season in 2025.

"Oh, genius to be near you. Eternally grateful," he wrote via Instagram.

Pedro Pascal, who stars as Joel Miller in The Last of Us, captioned an Instagram photo of himself with O'Hara, "Oh, genius to be near you. Eternally grateful. There is less light in my world, this lucky world that had you, will keep you, always. Always. The one and ONLY Catherine O'Hara."

O'Hara's A Mighty Wind costar Michael McKean wrote via X, "Only one Catherine O'Hara, and now none. Heartbreaking."
