The former Liverpool forward has signed a two-year deal after agreeing to terminate his Anfield contract one season early, ending a legendary nine-year spell in England.
Trabzonspor needed a proven match-winner capable of closing the gap on Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe after finishing third last season.
Their summer window has now been transformed by the arrival of a global name who brings goals, leadership and enormous commercial value without requiring a transfer fee.

Figures originally attributed to Bloomberg have also been detailed by The Sun, which reports that Mohamed Salah will receive a base salary worth approximately €17 million per season.
That works out at around £280,000 a week, before additional payments are included.

The agreement reportedly contains a €5 million signing-on bonus, potentially increasing his total weekly earnings beyond £360,000.
The package places him above Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, whose reported €15 million annual salary previously set the benchmark in Turkey.
The Guardian adds that the contract includes an image-rights arrangement and a percentage of revenue from shirt sales.
That clause could become extremely valuable because Salah is not merely a footballer for Trabzonspor, he is now their biggest global commercial asset.

The deal is expensive, but Trabzonspor would never have attracted a player of this profile through sporting ambition alone.
Interest from European clubs, MLS and the Saudi Pro League gave Salah several alternatives, forcing the Turkish side to produce an exceptional financial proposal.
From a footballing perspective, his finishing, creativity and experience should immediately improve Fatih Tekke’s attack.
He also brings the mentality of someone who won two Premier League titles and the Champions League with Liverpool.
The commercial clause makes the agreement particularly interesting. Trabzonspor are gambling that shirt sales, sponsorship growth and worldwide exposure will help cover a significant part of the contract.
That is not guaranteed, especially for a club operating outside Europe’s richest leagues.
However, this is more than a normal transfer. Trabzonspor have signed a global icon who could turn a third-placed side into a genuine championship contender.
